Description

Usually all the rollers are made from aluminium, sometimes they are grooved to help eliminate creases in the substrate used and now on some high speed or very low grammage substrates carbon fiber is used. The balancing of these rollers is key for good control during running and splicing. There are two kinds of Splicer Rollers; a Butt splice, which is one overlapping the other or an edge splice, where one edge lies up to the edge of the other, this is basically how a butt splicer works. It is all about controlling tension and speed. Lightweight material and balancing is the critical aspect here on all designs to eliminate web breaks, which are very costly to the customer on lost production.
